6.1.3 Setting the arrival alarm
To set an arrival alarm limit of 0.1 nautical miles from your ship's position to a destination
waypoint, for example, do the following:
1. Set a destination waypoint, referring to paragraph 1.1.16 on page 1-13 for instructions.
2. Press [MENU], [5], [1] to display the Alarm menu, and select Page 1.
Note:
Unit of distance and water temperature may be set with the keying sequence of
[MENU], [0], [2].
3. Select Arr. from the Arr/Anch field.
4. Press
[↓]
, set the alarm range and press the [ENT] key. For example, press, [0], [0], [1], [0],
[ENT] to set an alarm range of 0.1 nm. The available alarm range is 0.001 to 99.999 nm.
5. Press the [MENU] key several times to close the menu.
A red dotted ring is drawn about the destination waypoint, the radius of the ring equivalent to the
arrival alarm range. When your boat nears the destination waypoint by the distance set here the
audio and visual alarms will be released.
