1: Helps distinguish targets from sea clutter and suppresses brilliance of unstable
echoes.

4. Press the [MENU] key several times to close the menu.
The indication EAV and echo averaging number (0.5, 1, 2, or 3) appear at the left side of the
screen when the echo averaging feature is active.
11.4 Radar Picture Functions
11.4.1 Range selection
The range selected automatically determines the pulselength and number of range rings. Select
the range with the
,
keys. Ranges (nm) available are 0.125, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1, 1.5, 2, 3, 4,
6, 8, 12, 16, 24, 36, 48, 64, 72, 96, 120. Range selected appears at the top-right corner on the
screen.
11.4.2 Off-centering
Own ship position, or sweep origin, can be displaced up to 75% of the range in use to expand the
view field without switching to a larger range scale.
1. Place the +cursor at a position where you wish to move the sweep origin by operating the
trackball.
2. Press the [A/C RAIN] control (OFF CENTER control). Then, the sweep origin is off-centered
to the +cursor position.
3. To cancel off-centering, press the [A/C RAIN] control again.
If the +cursor disappears from the plotter/radar combination display, press the [CNTR] key.
Note that off-centering is not available on the 64, 96 and 120 mile ranges.
