Other cluster control functions
Two buttons at the bottom of the
Cluster
page manage the state of the controller pair
(see
3
on page 175). The functions that are available are
Migrate
,
Pair
,
and
Unpair
.
Pair
and
Unpair
share a single button.
•
Migrate
— When two controllers are paired, click to cause them to switch roles. The
service provider (primary VNM EC 200) becomes the backup (secondary VNM EC 200)
and the backup becomes the service provider.
•
Pair
— Click to cause a set of controllers to pair together initializing the service (cluster)
IP address and setting the units to operate in a shared-role state.
•
Unpair
— Click to cause a controller pair to unpair, stopping the service (cluster) IP
address and return the units to independent states.
NOTE:
An unpaired controller is not the same thing as a singleton. After unpairing,
the primary and secondary VNM EC 200s will not perform their role as controllers
until they have been paired back up.
