This guide contains installation, configuration, and operating information for the
VNM EC 200.
In this guide:

The terms "controller", "Enterprise Controller", "VNM EC 200", and "EC 200" refer
specifically to the VNM Enterprise Controller 200.
•
The term "codec" refers to a VN-Matrix device that can be configured as either an
encoder or decoder.
•
The term "stream" refers to multimedia that is constantly received by (and normally
presented to) an end-user while being delivered by a VN-Matrix encoding device.
•
The term "element" refers to the video/graphics, audio, (user) data, and whiteboard
(annotation data) content that is contained within a stream.
•
The VN-Matrix system model prefix "VNM" is used generically to refer to the
VNC (codec), VND (decoder), and VNE (encoder) models, and is used to refer to both

series and 3
xx
series devices. If specific models are referenced, the exact
model name is used.
NOTE:
This user guide details menus used to configure and control
VN-Matrix encoder, decoder, and codec devices, VNM recorders, and
VNS software decoders. The menus on the VNM EC 200 contain configuration and
control menus for these devices. Where necessary, differences in the configuration
and operation of controls for a specific VN-Matrix model or series is identified.
