DHCP Menu
The DHCP menu enables or disables the assignment of an IP address to the chassis using
‘dynamic host configuration protocol’ or DHCP. You can press the DHCP soft button or turn the
rotary knob to turn DHCP ‘on’ or ‘off’. If you change this setting, press the ‘save and restart’
button to power cycle the chassis and establish the new IP address.
ON
The Teranex processor will accept an IP address assigned by your network router.
OFF
The previous static IP address of the unit will be used if one was previously assigned.
If you press the IP button with ‘DHCP’ ‘on’ and see an IP address of 0.0.0.0, this indicates
that the processor was unsuccessful in obtaining an IP address from the DHCP server.
Please check your Ethernet network connections.
Processing Menu for Teranex AV only
The ‘processing’ menu allows you to change the latency, or processing delay, through the
Teranex AV. This feature is ideal when using a Teranex AV in live broadcast or production
situations and can reduce the latency down to 2 frames.
The processing modes are:
Lowest latency
In this mode format conversions will run with minimal latency, typically 2 frames.
Highest quality
In this mode, all conversions will run with the same high quality algorithms currently
used in Teranex processors.
Still Frame Menu for Teranex AV only
The still frame menu allows you to capture a full-frame image from the active video input or the
freeze frame buffer of the Teranex AV. This means that you can capture a still from an HDMI
input, like a computer, or from an SDI source, such as a camera. The still frame is saved into
non-volatile memory, which means it will be preserved after a power cycle or until you decide
to delete it or overwrite it with a new still.
Capture Mode
Pressing ‘capture mode’ will open a confirmation screen. Press ‘capture’ on the new
screen to grab from the current input signal or, if a freeze is present, from the freeze
frame buffer. Press ‘cancel’ to abort the process. Your still frame will be captured at the
current output resolution of the Teranex AV. You may store other still frames at other
resolutions by changing the output format of the Teranex AV to the new resolution and
repeating the capture process.
If a still frame exists in the Teranex AV at a specific resolution, capturing a new still
frame at the same resolution will overwrite the existing still frame.
