Chapter 10: Troubleshooting
You can set the ASUS Storage to migrate disk arrays under Non-Volatile Random
Access Memory (NVRAM), a much faster process because it writes data to the
memory in the controller. However, if a physical drive or the controller fails during
migration, the logical drives will go offline and you will lose data. See
―Incomplete
Arra
y‖ on page 387.
Because the setting for migration under NVRAM requires special access, most
users will not encounter this condition.
Physical Drive Fails during Transport
Transport is the action of moving the physical drives of a disk array:
•
To different slots in the same ASUS Storage enclosure
•
From one ASUS Storage enclosure to another
If a physical drive fails during a transport, or you do not move all of the physical
drives to their new locations, ASUS Storage Management will display an
incomplete array
. See ―Incomplete Array‖ on page 387.
