Bar meter area
The bar meter indicates the analog data signal level for each channel. The display can
be switched to either a percentage scale or dB scale, depending on the purpose.
•
The percentage scale or the dB scale can be selected by using the digital switch on
the rear panel.
•
The percentage scale uses a bidirectional format. With 0% as center, the signal level
moves up (+) or down (–) according to the signal polarity. The percentage scale is
suitable for measuring stress, distortion, acceleration and other data signals that
include DC components.
•
The dB scale uses a unidirectional format. Regardless of the signal polarity, the data
signal value is displayed as a dB value (+2 dB, –6 dB, –20 dB, etc.) relative to the
reference level (0 dB). The dB scale is suitable for measuring acoustic and other data
signals that do not include DC components.
•
When the level for any channel is over-range, the OVR LED and corresponding OVR
mark light. When the percentage scale is selected, the OVR marks on the positive (+)
side, negative (–) side or both sides light according to the polarity of the signal.
•
The bar meter response characteristics can be switched between real time and peak
hold using the digital switch on the rear panel.
