REC-PAUSE (recording pause) Mode
To select the REC-PAUSE (recording pause) mode, press the PAUSE key in the E-E, or
REC mode.
If there is old data, “ERA?(erase)” appears in the screen.
To select the REC (recording) mode, press the PAUSE key again, or press the FWD key
while holding down the REC key. The signal are overwritten on the tape.
When keeping old data, press the STOP key while the “ERA?(erase)” warning mark
appears in the LCD screen.
Stopping and Restarting Recording
When the STOP mode is selected during recording, it will take a maximum of 10 seconds
after the STOP key is pressed to finish recording data, TOC and EOD. During this time,
the LED above the STOP key continues blinking, and none of the key operations accepted.
When recording is stopped, the TOC and EOD are written on the tape and the EOD LED lights.
When continuing to record after the last recording, if the tape has been moved to a position
other than the EOD using playback, etc., first press the FF key and make sure that the tape
is at the EOD (the EOD LED lights), then invoke the REC mode.
Note
If the power supply is cut off or away from allowed voltage range during the REC mode,
the recording stops without writing the TOC and EOD on the tape. When the power is
supplied again, this SIR-1000 displays “EOD WRT” and “WAIT” alternately on the LCD
screen and searches for the end of recording and write TOC and EOD automatically. After
this, usual operation can be performed.
