17-2 Connecting and Setting
Slave
Master
Sync cable

Turn OFF the power switches of both recorders, and connect them using the sync cable
via their SYNC connectors on the rear panels.

Use the MST/SLV digital switch on the rear panel to set one recorder as master and the
other as slave. When a recorder’s switch is in the upper position, it is the master, and
when in the lower position, it is the slave.

Turn ON the power switch of the slave first, and then the master.

Make sure that both the SYN LEDs on the front panel of the master and the slave start
blinking.

When using a remote control unit, RS-232C control, or EXT. control, be sure these are
connected to the master’s connector.
Note
When the power switch of the slave is turned ON, the SYNC ID that is set by the UTL mode
is displayed on the LCD screen until launching the next operation.
