Append recording and overwritting
If the tape position of the slave is changed after synchronous recording stops, the
master and slave IDs will differ. For example, after stopping part-way through ID = 010
with the slave as shown below, when synchronous recording is started next, the master
records from the EOD following ID = 011, but the slave records from part-way through
ID = 010. As a result, part of the ID = 010 area on the slave side is deleted, and the ID
numbers of the new synchronous recording areas are 012 and 011 for the master and
slave, respectively. Synchronous playback can be performed with different ID numbers,
but starting recording from the EOD for both the master and slave is recommended.
