ID/UTL key
•
Press this key to increment the value of the ID number by 1 in the REC mode. The
ID number can be changed depending on the contents of the recording.
•
When this key is pressed in the SCH mode, the ID SEARCH mode is invoked and
the set ID number is used as the search target.
The value of the ID number can be incremented or decremented using the
8
or
9
key.
To move to a different digit of the ID number, use the
;
or
:
key.
•
When this key is pressed after pressing the SHIFT key, the recorder enters into the
UTL (utility setting) mode, and the AT FMT is displayed on the LCD screen. Select
the utility function using the
8
or
9
key.

Contents
ON : When an unformatted tape is acknowledged, it will
automatically be formatted.
OFF : FMT? will be displayed and the tape will not be
automatically formatted.
ON : Recorded tapes can be overwritten.
OFF : ERA OFF will be displayed and the tape cannot
be overwritten.
Use to set the SYNC ID, and it is displayed when the
unit is set as slave in the synchronized operation.
ON : Detects whether there is condensation.
(Standby time: 3 minutes)
OFF : No detection of whether there is condensation.
(No standby time)
ON : Disables ejection halfway in a tape.
A tape is ejected after being rewind to BOT.
When loading again, the tape stops at the point
where the tape was ejected.
OFF : Enables ejection halfway in a tape. (It is effective
for a cartridge with MIC.)
ON : When ET03 error arises, skips the error portion
automatically and restarts playback. Meanwhile
the signal is not output for 30 seconds.
OFF : Stops playback when ET03 error arises. After
pressing the STOP key, eject the tape.
ON : Compression mode is valid.
OFF : Compression mode is invalid. (Non-compression
mode)
After selecting the utility function, select ON/OFF the function and SYNC ID using
the
;
or
:
key.
When selected (it will be turned ON), the
√
mark will be displayed at the head of
characters. When the ID/UTL key is pressed, the recorder enables the selected utility
function.
