Note
•
If the STOP key is pressed during setting, the setting to be set will be canceled.
•
Supplement about the function.
ERA
Once overwriting starts with the ERA function is off, the ERA OFF is displayed on
the LCD screen, and the recorder cannot be entered into the REC mode.
DEW
When STAND BY switch is turned on with the DEW function ON, a standby time
of 3 minutes will be required for condensation detection. The time to completion will
be displayed on the LCD.
BOT EJECT
The BOT EJECT function is valid only for the cassette with MIC. When using a same
tape frequently, it is advisable to set this function ON. With this function set OFF,
a repeat of loading /ejecting a tape at the same point may cause damage (play back
disability) for the data on the portion.
The cassettes without MIC are all ejected after being rewind to BOT.
SKP ET03
When SKP ET03 function setting is ON, the synchronous operation does not
synchronize at the point of skip.
When ET03 error arises and playback is stopped during the function setting is OFF,
EJECT key only activates.
CMP MODE
The data compression by setting ON the CMP MODE enables the data transmission
between the tape and memory to make fast, which results in a large allowance against
overflow or underflow of the memory, therefore mark will rarely appear.
(As the data possible to be compressed uses smaller amount of a tape, if the number
of retry is a few, the recoding time will be extended. As for the retry, refer to Section
4-5 Warning Display “ Record/Play Back Error”.)
At CMP MODE set ON (compression mode), pressing the REC key displays “CMP”
on the LCD screen about a half second.
In addition, the tape recorded in CMP MODE ON state can be played back even by
the recorder having no setting of CMP MODE.
!
CAUTION
•
When the DEW function is OFF, as no condensation detection is performed, the
tape may become damaged.
•
When using in an environment below 5 °C, be sure to turn ON the DEW function.
•
The CMP MODE can be switched to ON or OFF only when a tape is loaded.
•
When using SBS-10A/S (asynchronous type bit stream board) or SVB-10 (MPEG
video board), the CMP MODE is automatically set OFF (non-compression mode).
•
The REMAIN value at CMP MODE can be the reference. (Because the compression
rate differs in accordance with the data.)
