Load the cartridge.
When the TOC data cannot be used (see section 2-2), “TOC?” appears in the LCD
screen. Press the FF key to load the TOC information from the TOC area on the tape
into the recorder’s memory. When recording from the start of the tape (BOD), press
the REW key to rewind the tape to the BOD.
Note
The ID number increments each time recording starts, and a new ID number is assigned
for the next recording. In addition, a start ID is also attached each time recording starts to
allow start ID search. The ID number increments each time the ID key is pressed during
recording. Using this as an event mark allows events to be searched by ID number.
2
Select the E-E mode by pressing the REC key. The input signal can be monitored on
the display screen without recording data on the tape. Also, the signal can be output
from the ANALOG MONITOR and ANALOG OUTPUT connectors.
Note
Voice annotation channel can not be monitored from Speaker or Microphone.
3
Check the tape speed, channel mode, input range, input DC offset and other settings again.
4
Select the REC mode by pressing the FWD key while holding down the REC key. The data
signal, tape position information, and input setting information are recorded on the tape.
Note
The input data is sent to the FIFO memory from the instant the recorder enters the REC
mode. Therefore, the data from the start of recording can be recorded on the tape
regardless of the time taken for the tape transport system to reach the specified speed.
!
CAUTION
•
It is highly recommended that the recorder’s power be backed up by either external DC
or the battery when the primary power may be interrupted.
•
Once overwriting starts, none of the old data remaining on the tape after the point where
overwritting stops can be played back. When overwriting from the start of the tape or
from part-way through the pre-recorded data, “ERA?” appears in the LCD screen. To
proceed with the recording, press the FWD key again while holding down the REC key.
•
If ERA mode under sthe UTL mode is in OFF state, no REC mode can be performed,
and “ERA OFF” appears in the LCD screen.
