13.2.1.8 Ear plug alignment
13.2.1.8.1 Checking the ear plug alignment

"Ceph" operating mode is selected on the control panel.
✔
The ceph sensor is plugged into the ceph slot on the unit.
1. In the structure tree, under
"2D Adjustment"
, click on the
"Ear plug
alignment"
element.

The
"Ear plug alignment"
menu is displayed in the action area.
2. Move the ear plug holders completely apart and swing them into the
beam direction.
3. Fit the adjusting caps (A) to the ear plugs and secure them with
adhesive tape.
Black adjusting cap: on the outside (sensor side)
Transparent adjusting cap: on the inside (tube assembly side)
4. Make SIDEXIS XG ready for exposure. [ → 206]
5. Take an exposure (80 kV / 14 mA ; 14.9 s) [ → 206].

The exposure is displayed in the exposure window in SIDEXIS
XG.

The lead balls in the adjusting caps appear as dots on the image.

The two dots must be coincident.

If the two dots are not coincident, the ear plug alignment must be
adjusted.
