13.2 Adjustment and calibration via the "Unit adjustment/calibration" menu Installation Manual ORTHOPHOS XG 3D / Ceph
13.2.2.5 Geometry
1. Insert the geometry phantom in the pan bite block holder of the
unit [ → 207].
2. Align the geometry phantom with the spirit level and tighten the screw
(A).
* For enhanced representation, the unit is illustrated without the
combisensor.
3. In the structure tree, under
"3D Adjustment/calibration"
, click on the
"Center of rotation (8x8) 1"
element (S010.25-29 and S010.35-39).
4. Make SIDEXIS XG ready for exposure. [ → 206]
5. Take an exposure (85 kV/23mA s) [ → 206].

A message is displayed in the action window to indicate whether
adjustment has been successful and the traffic light symbol in
front of the
"Center of rotation (8x8) 1"
element in the structure
tree responds accordingly:
Calibration not OK = traffic light stays red
Calibration OK = traffic light turns yellow
6. Repeat the procedure starting at Step 4 until calibration is successful.
7. When calibration is OK, save the values.

The traffic light symbol in front of the
"Center of rotation (8x8) 1"
element in the structure tree changes color to green (with check
mark). This indicates that the calibration settings are valid.
8. Repeat the calibration procedure for the remaining centers of rotation
2-5 (8x8) and 1-5 (5x5).
9. Remove the geometry phantom from the pan bite block holder on the
unit.
