Install a PCIe Card

To remove the card, pull it straight up and out of its connector.

Install a PCIe Card

To access a PCIe card, you must first remove its DPCC (see 

“Remove a

DPCC” on page 151

). One or two PCIe cards can be installed in each Dual PCIe Card

Carrier (DPCC).

Perform this procedure when replacing a PCIe card or when changing its configuration.

1.

Prepare the server for service. Choose one of the following methods:

■

Prepare the server for hot service.

■

Prepare the server for cold service.

See 

“Preparing the Server for Component Replacement” on page 101

.

2.

Identify the DPCC PCIe slot.
