2. Tilt back the machine head. (Refer to page 8.)
3. Remove the bed cover

4. Remove the accessory bobbin case which is supplied
with the sewing machine.
5. Install the bobbin thread detector

to the bed with the two
screws

6. Push the slider

up by inserting an Allen key

in through
the window in the cover

in order to move the detector
pin

toward the shaft in the middle of the rotary hook.
Then adjust the installation position by turning the screw
e
so that the clearance between the rotary hook and the de-
tector pin
u
becomes 0 - 0.05 mm.
7. Install the special bobbin case.
8. Push the slider
y
back up again and check that the detec-
tor pin
u
goes into the hole in the bobbin case.
9. Install the bed cover

* Be careful not to clamp the cords with the bed cover
q
at this time.
10. Open the control box cover

. (Refer to page 17.)
11. Connect the bobbin thread detector connector

to the con-
nector

on the control circuit board.
12. Secure the bobbin thread detector connector

with the
binding strap

13. Close the control box cover

* After this, set the amount of lower thread remaining
to 0% while referring to the instructions on page 81.
If the amount of lower thread remaining is not set to
0%, the correct amount of lower thread remaining
will not be displayed.
