Step 12 Open the State tab, and set the administrative state to the relevant
value at this time.
Step 13 In order for the interface to become operational, you must set the
administrative state to “In Service” or “Automatic In Service”.
Step 14 Reboot the NE for the new IP address to take effect.
Step 15 Configuration is complete, end this procedure.
Step 16 Create the Ethernet IP interface, entering the parameters required as
follows:
•
Specify that the interface shall be numbered or unnumbered,
according to the DCN plan. However, only one Ethernet interface
(i.e. of type LANIP) can be unnumbered on one NE.
•
If the interface is numbered: Enter the planned IP address and IP
mask.

Commissioning
This section describes how to commission the ROADM-C40/40/OPM-3HU/2DC
Shelf. Commissioning consists of:
•
Assigning shelf numbers to ROADM-C40/40/OPM-3HU/2DCs
•
Setting up a telnet session with the FSP 3000R7 master shelf
•
Setting ROADM-C40/40/OPM-3HU/2DC in service
•
Setting ROADM-C40/40/OPM-3HU/2DC ports in service

commissioning procedure.
Commissioning Procedure
At this point, it is assumed that the FSP 3000R7 master shelf is powered on,
cabled up, has the IP address defined, basic parameters configured, and is
communicating with the other FSP 3000R7 shelves in the rack.
Communications with the FSP 3000R7 master shelf is established via the C port
on the NCU. Interfacing with the C port can be accomplished using these inter-
faces:

Web GUI
•
Craft
•
Element manager
•
TL-1
