b) Position the PSU in front of the dedicated slots and align the
upper and lower edges of the unit with the upper and lower tracks
as shown in
. If the unit is in the correct position, care-
fully slide it into the slots a few millimeters while guiding the upper
and lower edges of the unit in the tracks.
c) Using moderate force, push gently on the faceplate with your
thumbs until the unit connectors mate properly with the backplane
connectors.
Step 8
Ensure that the PSU is completely inserted into the slots. The unit is
completely inserted when its faceplate is flush with the faceplates of
the adjacent modules and the shelf panels.
Step 9
When the PSU is inserted completely, secure it tightly in the slots as
follows:
a) Hold the unit in place with your left hand and simultaneously turn
two diagonally arranged knurled screws clockwise into the
threaded holes using the thumb and forefinger of your right hand.
b) Turn the remaining knurled screws exactly the same way into the
threaded holes as well.
c) Gently tighten the four knurled screws using the Torx screwdriver
TX10. Do not overtighten.
Step 10 Detach the wrist strap from your wrist, disconnect the earthing cable
from the ESD grounding point on the shelf (if available) or the rack
and lay the earthing cable aside.
Step 11 Store the cardboard box including the static-protective package for
future use in a safe place.

installed.

Note
If the edges of the PSU do not glide in the tracks, the unit cannot be
inserted correctly. In this case, stop immediately and remove the unit.
Position the unit again and reinsert it.
NOTICE
Risk of damage to connectors!
To avoid damaging the backplane connectors, do not use
excessive force when inserting the PSU into the slots. If
you need a force greater than 90 Newton (20.2 lbf) to
push in the unit, stop immediately. Inspect the unit and
the electrical connectors. If the unit and the connectors
are not damaged, repeat
