Navigate to the squared-bracket Time Zone field and press ENTER.
Step 8
Navigate to the relevant time zone in the Time Zone drop-down list
and press ENTER to select it. The options are country names, city
names, or “GMT+<offset>”, where offset is the desired offset from
GMT.
GMT+x represents a time zone west of Greenwich and GMT-x repre-
sents a time zone on the east side of Greenwich. Daylight saving time
rules are implemented.

Select [Apply] to save your changes.
Step 10 Ensure that your time zone settings are correct. If you entered a coun-
try or city, the resulting offset from GMT will be displayed in the Time
Zone Offset
field. Whether daylight saving time is active or not in the
applied time zone will be indicated in the Daylight Savings Time field.

Defining NTP Servers
It is common practice in carrier and enterprise networks to synchronize all the
system clocks via the network time protocol (NTP).This section contains infor-
mation on how to specify remote NTP servers with which the NE will synchro-
nize its clock. Use this section overview to quickly obtain the information of your

Requirements
•
Before making changes to the date, time, time zone, or NTP configuration in
an already operating system, you should retrieve your performance record
history from the NE. Collect all performance records and store them in a
safe place before following this procedure. Use the FSP 3000R7 Element
Manager or the Network Manager to collect performance records.

You must be logged on with a user account that has ADMIN privileges.
