Rack-Mounting the 

SH1HU/FIBERMANAGEMENT and the 

FMT/1HU Shelf

The SH1HU/FIBERMANAGEMENT and the FMT/1HU shelf can be mounted 
into open equipment racks or customer cabinets of the following standard 
widths: 19 inch, 21 inch and 23 inch. They also fit into a 300 mm (0.984 ft.) deep 
ETSI rack.

The SH1HU/FIBERMANAGEMENT comes pre-installed with ETSI brackets. 
The pre-installed ETSI brackets and the delivered NEBS brackets can be 
mounted for 19-inch racks. If a SH1HU/FIBERMANAGEMENT shelf is to be 
mounted into a 19-inch or NEBS compliant rack, you must remove the ETSI 
brackets and fit the appropriate adaptor bracket pair. The pre-installed ETSI 
brackets and the delivered NEBS brackets can be mounted for 19-inch racks. 
The adaptor brackets are fitted on the outside of the left-hand and right-hand 
side walls.

The FMT/1HU comes pre-installed with 19-inch brackets. If the shelf has to be 
mounted into an ETSI complaint rack or cabinet, you must remove the 19-inch 
brackets and mount ETSI bracket pairs. If the shelf has to be installed in a 
NEBS complaint rack or cabinet, you must remove the 19-inch brackets and fit 
the NEBS bracket pair. The brackets are fitted on the outside of the left-hand 
and right-hand side walls.

The procedures for fitting the adaptor brackets and mounting the shelf to the 
rack are described in the following subsections.

Fitting the SH1HU/FIBERMANAGEMENT with 19-Inch 

Brackets

The NEBS and ETSI brackets can be mounted for 19-inch rack-mounting. 
Therefore either NEBS bracket or ETSI brackets can be used.
