1. Load and configure the Adobe PostScript printer driver and
your printer’s PPD following instructions in “Adobe PostScript
Printer Drivers” earlier in this chapter.
2. Copy your printer’s PPD from the CD-ROM’s App Drivers:
PageMaker PPD folder to the System: Aldus PPD folder on
your Macintosh.
Note: The PPD’s name indicates the XANTÉ printer it
supports. A “W” after the name indicates the PPD is
for use on printers with the wide format option.
3. Check your application documentation for instructions on
selecting and using the PPD.
QuarkXPress PDF Folder
The APP Drivers: QuarkXPress PDF folder contains PDFs (Printer
Description Files) for each XANTÉ printer. QuarkXPress versions 3.3X
and earlier require these files in addition to the PPD to ensure the
highest quality output from your printer and QuarkXPress.
XInstaller loads the QuarkXPress PDF if you choose an individual
printer installation. To load these PDFs manually
1. Load and configure the Adobe PostScript printer driver and
your printer’s PPD following instructions in “Adobe PostScript
Printer Drivers” earlier in this chapter.
2. Copy your printer’s PDF from the CD-ROM’s App Drivers:
QuarkXPress PDF folder to the appropriate folder on your
Macintosh.
• For versions 3.3X and earlier, copy the XANTÉ 3-Series
Printer PDF to the QuarkXPress application:PDF folder.
Note: The PDF name indicates the XANTÉ Printer it
supports. A “W” after the name indicates it is for a
printer with the wide format option.
