Verify that the printer’s LocalTalk interface is enabled and
configured properly. See “Interface Control” in chapter 6 and
“XANTÉ Command Center” in chapter 3.
Before using your printer, install and configure the Adobe PostScript
printer driver and your printer’s PPD. See “Xinstaller” and “Adobe
PostScript Printer Drivers” in chapter 3.
Connecting to the Parallel Port
Use a bidirectional parallel cable to connect your PC and printer (fig.
2.29) via the parallel port. This cable’s printer end has a 36-pin male
connector and the computer end has a 25-pin male connector.

Turn off your PC.

Plug the cable’s 36-pin connector into the printer’s parallel
port and the 25-pin connector into the computer’s parallel port
(fig. 2.29).

Turn on your printer and PC.

Verify that the printer’s parallel interface is enabled and
configured properly. See “Interface Control” in chapter 6.
