Usually you set lines per inch through your application or you can
use the LPI option in Command Center’s Linearization program.
However, when LPI is not a software option, you can use the front
panel MISC:LPI configuration menu. Line screen options range from
5 to 210 lines per inch with a factory default of 85 lpi.
Media
Media options in the front panel allow you to select the default
media and set configurations for specific media. The MEDIA:
DEFAULT menu allows you to select the default media for your
printer. Media options are Paper (the factory default), Film,
Hvypaper (heavy paper), Hvyfilm (heavy film), and five user defined
types of media.
Note:
Throughout this document, all references to media are shown
as PAPER (the factory default). The same menu settings
apply to Film, Hvypaper (heavy paper), Hvyfilm (heavy
film), and five user-defined types of media.
The MEDIA:CONFIG menu allows you to select media types and
choose submenus to configure that media’s Density (Positive Film
Technology), EP1 (toner control), EP2 (humidity control), and Fuser
Temperature.
Positive Film Technology (Density)
Positive Film Technology (density) allows you to control the toner
intensity used for positive film output. The amount of toner applied
to a positive image increases as the PAPER:DENSITY configuration
menu settings increase from 0 to 20. The default setting depends on
the selected media. The default for paper and film is 7.
This menu is active only if Negative Print is set to False in the Print
dialog box.
Electrophotography (EP1, Toner Control)
The PAPER:EP1 menu helps reduce toning by controlling the level
of toner transferred from the toner drum to the media. Options are 0
up to 15. The default setting depends on the selected media. The
default setting for paper and film is 10.
