Temporarily screw these bottom mounting holes using a 1/4-inch spacer between
the flap selector assembly and the inner console wall. Using the flap selector as a template,
drill the hole in the console sidewall for the flap selector’s rear top screw. Make sure any
of these mounting holes have a rigid point previously installed. If hard point is not
installed install it at this time
Using the supplied nuts, bolts, washers, and spacers, install the flap actuation
assembly and two selector panels. The lower shaft bolt for the flap will use a castellated
nut and peg , as it will only be slightly tight to allow movement of the arm. The rear top
mount bolt must pass a space of about 7/8 inches long between the two sides of the
selector, and a 1/4 inch spacer with area of influence of at least as much as a 3/16 washer
between the selector and the inner wall of the tunnel. This bolt will use a self-locking nut
and must be tight to hold the assembly in place.
In the front mount sector, the sides of the selector must go outside the mount support
ears. The bolt should use a self-locking nut, not too much torque which would collapse
the arm. There is a tight clearance between this screw end, and the elevator actuation. It
might be a good idea to trim any excess bolt length from one or both of these bolts.
The rods for the elevator and flap actuation will be installed at a later time.
Install the other side of the console and permanently glue both sides in place. Two
layers of BID tape will suffice for most mounting areas, except the points inside the front
seat where seat belt mounting will take place, which should have a minimum of 6 layers
on each side.
