FIAP
Identify the main portions of the kit’s flap parts, and prepare them by removing all
peel ply and other debris.
The primary components of the flap are the top linings ( C20TR & C20TL ) and
lower ( C20BR &C20BL ) for each side, and the rib patterns marked on the 2-ply
laminated panel supplied with the kit. Since the flap has hinge at the bottom, the top coat
will have the curved surface in front of the section, and the bottom panel will be straight.
The right and left flap are mirror images of each other
-
exactly the same - but turned in the opposite direction. The original sketches and
instructions will be given for the right flap, with the left flap identical but reversed.
7.1
Bottom cladding assembly
Prepare a flat surface to build the flap on top, even a ripple in this component can
cause severe degradation in flight performance. Sand the edges of the coating to finish it.
Secure the lower flap casing to the flat surface prepared with shims and shims so as
not to damage the casing (do not press too hard).
Cut out four ribs from the prepreg panel and one from the 1/4-inch plywood board
provided. The flap actuation rail will be mounted on the wooden rib, so it will be
embedded with two anchor nuts before closing the mount.
