Fuel drain valve
It will be necessary to install a fuel drain valve in the lower section of the fuel tank
to drain the fuel and check for water accumulation. Locate the place to mount this drain
as far inward as possible and close to the spar. Stay out of gluing areas of ribs, spars and
internal bulkheads. Spare lamination of this insert can cause a tank leak if it penetrates an
area of flange bonding.
Cut a square sheet of 1.5 inches ¼ inch thick aluminum side, place over the inner
liner in the selected position and mark around. Cut off the inner liner and clean the core
to the inside face of the outer liner. Glue the aluminum patch into this hole with a paste
MICRO . Cover with 2 layers of BID with at least half an inch overlapping on all sides to
overlap with coating. Make sure this patch is well dry with no pores or holes when the
resin is fully cured.
