The image above shows one side of the rear tunnel control assembly. t is suggested
that this tunnel be constructed in two sections, and a floor; be provided in the section
between the rear of the front seat and the front of the rear seat. The function of this floor
is to ensure that the control funtions be placed against the incursion of any loose objects
that could jam the controls. The rearmost section of this tunnel (under the seating area)
must use the full height sides to prevent any items from interfering with the safe operation
of the flap and elevater.
The photo below shows a view from the rear looking forward at the rear of the
tunnel seat. This flat has an optional rear seat fold cut away for better access to the luggage
area, and/or carrying bulky loads in the back seat area. The extra layers to replace the
stiffness lost in the cutout had not yet been added
