Temporary fitting of the top of the fuselage
The upper section of the fuselage will be temporarily installed. Align the axial
position of the two assemblies by finding the notch lines on the front (firewall) of both
sections. If the parts have been flattened correctly, the vertical position will be established
by the flattened corner of the upper part over the face of the notch of the lower part along
the waist. Check the fit. Temporarily secure the top section by drilling holes at locations
approximately approx. two feet and insert appropriately sized clecos to securely join the
mounts (small metal pins or screws can be used in place of clecos). It may be helpful to
keep the top section of the fuselage installed in this position while not working on this
assembly. This storage location will help these parts retain their shape until final bonding.
