How to Set Up Your GX Series Microlog
Global Measurement Settings
A scroll bar in a drop-down list indicates more options are

of running speed. Specify frequency units for all
appropriate input fields and graphic displays.
Display Update – Single
,
Multiple
, or
Continuous
. This setting determines whether to
stop spectral measurements after the averaging process, or to continuously repeat
measurements until Enter is pressed, and also determines whether to apply fast
“spectral” averaging during data collection.
Single –
Stops measurements after one averaging process and enables fast
spectral averaging. When fast averaging is enabled, only the final averaged
spectrum displays.
Multiple –
Stops measurements after one averaging process and disables fast
spectral averaging. When fast averaging is disabled, the display is updated as
often as possible while the DSP is collecting and averaging the data (e.g., if the
number of averages is set to 20, data might be displayed for averages 1, 6, 12,
18, and 20).
Continuous -
Continuously repeats the averaged measurements until Enter is
pressed. Fast averaging is enabled.
Auto Advance
–
On / Off
. Determines how resulting spectra dis
play during ROUTE
data collection. Options are:
On
– Quickly and automatically
advance through ROUTE data collection

Off
–
Manually advance through ROUTE data collection, displayin

spectral measurement result until the fire key is pressed to stop the
measurement and
Continue
is pressed to move to the next POINT in the
hierarchy.
Dither Time
– Time, in seconds, for which spectral results are to be displayed before
Auto Advance
moves to the next POINT in the hierarchy.
Machine Speed
–
Normal

Slow

Auto
.
Helps collect better quality data on slower
speed machinery. Specify the overall speed of the machine in order to collect accurate
data.
Normal
– Select for measurements on shafts rotating at or above 600 RPM.
Slow
– Select if ski slope or settling problems occur on shafts rotating below
600 RPM.
Auto
-
Select to have the Microlog automatically select Normal or Slow
depending on the POINT’
s speed setting specified in @ptitude Analyst.
Settling Delay
– Specify (in seconds) an additional settling delay to allow ICP
transducers to power up. The specified delay applies only to the first ICP measurement
after turning ICP on
