CLAMP-ON RESISTIVE TEMPERATURE DEVICE (RTD) INSTALLATION

NOTES

The Clamp-On RTD sensor, with which your 1010BX is supplied, is extremely sensitive and

precise. Its contribution to the performance of your meter can be as important as that of the

liquid sensors. Please consult the installation drawings for details on physical installation

and wiring of the RTD. In order to produce the best possible tracking of the true liquid tem-

perature, try to make your installation conform to the notes on the installation drawing and

these following tips:

 

Prepare the pipe surface by removing paint to expose bare metal and by smoothing out any

remaining rough spots.

NOTES ON SYSTEM 1010 ANALOG INPUT MODULES

Single Channel Models

 

System 1010 meters report input module temperature sensor connections T1 and T2 as

system variables.

Dual Channel/Path Models

 

The Dual Channel meters report both T1 and T2 as generic variables for both channels.

 

The Dual Path meters use T1 to report liquid temperature. (Note that T2 is used to

report ambient temperature in some Leak Detector systems.)

 

The Analog Input of temperature takes priority over the built-in RTD (Resistive Ther-

mal Device) measurement of temperature.
