Installing recorder software
Some recorders require additional software to work with Dragon NaturallySpeaking.
If you are using a:

Sony
®
IC recorder, you must install the Sony PC application software. For more
information, see the documentation that came with your recorder
■
A Panasonic
®
IC recorder, you must install the Panasonic
®
Voice Editor. For
more information, see the documentation that came with your recorder.
■
An Olympus recorder, you can optionally install the Olympus DSS Player or
DSS Player Plus. For more information on using the Olympus DSS Player with
Dragon NaturallySpeaking, see the documentation that came with your recorder
and the ScanSoft Knowledge Base ScanSoft website: www.ScanSoft.com/
NaturallySpeaking/support/.

A Pocket PC (for example, a Compaq iPAQ), you must install the ScanSoft
Voice Recorder software. See below for more information.

Devices that support the Palm OS ® , see the documentation that came with your
recorder. This functionality is installed separately from Dragon
NaturallySpeaking. See the online help for more information on installing Palm
OS
®
using Dragon NaturallySpeaking to transcribe your recordings.
■
A Dragon NaturallyMobile recorder, you can install the Voice It
®
Link software,
which is not required, but can enhance the recorder’s usability.
Pocket PC: Installing ScanSoft Voice Recorder
If you are using a Pocket PC device like the Compaq iPAQ as a mobile recorder, you
can install ScanSoft Voice Recorder either at the same time you install Dragon
NaturallySpeaking, or at a later time.
To install ScanSoft Voice Recorder at the same time you install
Dragon NaturallySpeaking:

If you don’t already have ActiveSync 3.5 on your desktop, you must install it.

Connect your PocketPC device to your computer using the device's USB
connection.

Install Dragon NaturallySpeaking.

At the end of the installation process, a message will appear stating that the
Setup program has detected a PocketPC device connected to the computer and
asks if you want to install ScanSoft® Voice Recorder.
