Setting Touch Switches
This section describes how to create touch switch graphics that are displayed on
the PT screen and can be used as input switches.
The sensitive area (area that senses being touched) of a touch switch is not set in
accordance with the ordinary coordinates but with touch switch elements as the
minimum units.
The number of touch switches that can be created for one screen and the size of
touch switch elements is determined by the “PT Type” setting, as follows:
NT Model
Max. Number per Screen (when
using/not using direct connection)
Size of Touch
Switch Elements
(vert. x hori.)
NT20S, NT20M
64/72
21 x 21 dots
NT600S, NT600M
128/128
50 x 40 dots
NT612G
256/256
25 x 20 dots
NT30, NT30C,
NT610C
256/256
20 x 20 dots
A grid that matches the size of the touch switch elements can be set by pressing
the [F1] (Tch Sw) key while the cursor is located on “Grid Display X Width” and
“Grid Display Y Width” in the environmental settings.
Do not use the PT touch switch function for applications
where there is any danger to human life or possibility of
serious damage, or for an emergency stop switch function.
The same operations are used for both the NT610C and NT612G, with the excep-
tion of color specification.
