Regular Timing
Use the Regular Timing field to record the timing cycle over which
the error checking packets will be transmitted during normal
operation.
The default setting for this value is 0 seconds.
In the sample worksheet the Regular Timing field is recorded as 0
seconds (e.g. disabled). When enabled, a reasonable value for this
field is 15 seconds.
Error Detect Timing
Use the Error Detect Timing field to record the timing cycle over
which the error checking packets will be transmitted after an error has
been detected. This value is usually set to a higher frequency than
Regular Timing. If a normal return is detected during this period, the
Regular Timing is resumed.
In the sample worksheet the Error Detect Timing field is recorded as
the default, 3 seconds.
Disconnect on Errors
Use the Disconnect on Errors field to record the number of errors that
will be detected before an error condition is detected. Once this
number of errors is detected, the link is terminated (e.g. disconnected)
but the error checking packets continue to be transmitted using the
Error Detect Timing cycle.
In the sample worksheet the Disconnect on Errors field is recorded as
the default value, 10 times.
Reconnect on Errors
Use the Reconnect on Errors field to record the number of successful
error checking replies after which a connection will be reestablished
(e.g. connected). Once reconnected, the Regular Timing for error
checking is resumed.
In the sample worksheet the Disconnect on Errors field is recorded as
the default value, 1 times.
