4.5.3 Connect Interface Cables
Cabling the BV1250 interface requires the preparation of line cable
connectors for the terminal side of the connection and LAN cable
connectors for interconnection with LAN equipment such as routers and
hubs.
In addition, interface cabling requirements differ for BV1250 with AP/FXS
and FXO boards installed and those with E&M or E&M-OD boards.
Install Interface Cables for BV1250 with AP/FXS Board
The BV1250 with an AP/FXS board uses a 2-wire printed interoffice cable.
To prepare connectors for the BV1250-FXS unit:
1. For each connector, split cable and separate end of the 2-wire printed
office cable into two cores.
2. Insert cores into RJ11 connector in accordance with the following
diagram.

3. Use a standard RJ connector crimp tool to secure the wires in the RJ
connector.
Repeat these steps for each port to be used (maximum of 4). Repeat these
steps for each port to be used (maximum of 4), then proceed to the
procedure below, "To connect the analog interface cables" below.
To prepare connectors for the BS1200-AP unit:
1. For each connector, split cable and separate end of the 2-wire printed office
cable into two cores.
2. With the shielding intact, insert the cores into the 1 and 2 positions of the
connector supplied with the AP/FXS board.

Position 1 (LA) = Negative in normal condition.
•
Position 2 (LB) = Ground in normal condition.
