4.3.2 Configure E&M Board DIP Switches
In the case of the E&M type Line Interface board only, the DIP switches
may need to be configured to interface with the PBX system.

E&M board DIP switches are used to configure one or more of the four
ports on the board for 2-wire or 4-wire connection, and to configure PBX
line signaling as Type 1 or Type 2.
In many cases, the factory presets, 4-wire and Type-2 can be left unaltered.
The appropriate settings for the board being installed should be
designated on the Unit Setup Worksheet discussed in section 3.2.3
of this document.
To reconfigure E&M board DIP switches:
1. Locate the 2-Wire/4-Wire (2W/4W) switch blocks on the E&M board. The
location of these switch blocks is shown in Figure 4-3.

2. Use a small screwdriver or pen nib to set the Speech DIP switch for one or
more of the ports as required. (See Table 4-5 below.)
3. Use a small screwdriver or pen nib to set the Type 1/Type 2 DIP switch for one
or more of the ports as required. (See Table 4-6 below.)
