In the sample worksheet, the Subnet mask IP address is the same as
the default, 255.255.255.0.
Gateway 1 IP (GW_IP)

Use the Gateway address field to record the address of the primary
gateway to be associated with the unit. This is the gateway that will be
accessed by the unit during normal operation.
The BV1250 unit’s gateway is typically a router or similar device.
This address must conform to Internet Protocol addressing
requirements. E.g. nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn, where nnn = a value of 0 to 255
excluding 0.0.0.0 and 255.255.255.255. This address usually applies
to a router or similar device, to which the unit is connected.
IP addressing information is usually supplied by a network
administrator.
There is no default value for this field.
In the sample worksheet, the Gateway 1 IP address is recorded as
133.149.1.254.
Gateway 2 IP (GW_IP)

Use the Gateway address field to record the address of the secondary
gateway, if present.
The BV1250 unit’s second gateway address is optional. It is used to
designate a secondary (backup) device to be accessed in the event that
the primary gateway becomes unavailable. This address must conform
to Internet Protocol addressing requirements. E.g. nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn,
where nnn = a value of 0 to 255 excluding 0.0.0.0 and
255.255.255.255. This address usually applies to a router or similar
device, to which the unit is connected.
IP addressing information is usually supplied by a network
administrator.
There is no default value for this field.
In the sample worksheet, the Gateway 2 IP address is recorded as
None (e.g. There is no secondary gateway).

The Gateway is the unit’s link to Wide Area Network. The GW-IP refers to the IP address of the
device (e.g. a router or similar device) to which the IVG forwards data packets for delivery to the IP
network and from which the IVG receives data packets.
In the case of an installation behind a firewall, this address is used to route IVG data through the
protection facilities. See Appendix G: and the BV1250 Technical Reference for details.
