The Workstation Installation/Operation Manual Version 2 Document 51540 Rev. B1 4/8/02
Time Codes
To add a time code, click the
New Code
button in the Time Codes area and enter a name, start and stop time,
and the days of the week to which the time code is assigned. It is also possible to specify if the time code applies
on holidays by checking or unchecking the box labeled "Hol" in the Time Codes Form.
Each time code must contain a start time, stop time, and at least one day upon which it applies (although it is
possible to set a time code for holidays only).
Time codes can have a wide range of applications which include (but certainly are not limited to), specifying times
a door is unlocked or locked, activating a point or output on a set schedule, setting times that an individual can
access certain locations, etc. The application of time codes and their related data depends entirely on the applica-
tion or device that implements them.
Time Code Groups
Time codes can also be collected into
Time Code Groups
. These are used to apply a set grouping of time codes
to various devices.
For example, a set of time codes can be generated which represent different hours worked by certain personnel.
These codes can be placed in a group, and used to specify the same set of time codes for a number of individuals.
To create a time code group, click the button labeled
New Group
below the time code group window. The
software will prompt for a group name. Enter this name and press enter. Now the time code group will appear in
the time code group window.
To add a defined time code to a certain group, click to select one or more codes, then click and hold on the arrow
to the left of the time code and drag it to the group with which it is to be associated. A time code can be a
member of any number of groups, and a group can contain any number of time codes.
It is possible to remove a time code group or a member of the group by selecting the desired code or group and
clicking on the
Remove
button.
Importing Time Codes
The
File
menu contains an option to Import
Date & Time Codes
. This allows the user to copy over Universal
Time Codes and Groups that have already been defined on another workstation. When this option is selected a
standard Open File dialog is displayed. Use this dialog to find the screen.mdb of the desired workstation on the
network (where the defined time codes are located) and click the
Open
button. All time codes and time code
groups on that workstation will be imported to the local workstation.
