3.5.6 Creating and Assigning Voice Annunciation Files
Voice Annunciation provides spoken voice annunciation of off normal events received by the workstation. These
voice annunciations can provide detailed information in a flexible format and can increase the operator's under-
standing of events coming into the workstation.
Voice Annunciation is setup in the System Options Display , on the Speech Annunciation Tab . This can be
found in the Workstation Configuration menu under the Options command.

Speech Annunciation in the workstation is based around the creation of a basic sentence structure for annunci-
ating off-normal events. The software supports up to two different languages and structures. The current language
being edited is selected and displayed in the Language box. To choose a language to edit/view select the radio
button to the left of either primary or secondary. The actual language used is dependent on the language of the
sound files used.

3.5.5 Guidance Text
Guidance text is used to give general information that pertains to a particular screen or site. This information can
be anything in a text format, and commonly contains such information as contact numbers, safety precautions, and
special procedures. The guidance text can be viewed by selecting View, Guidance Text or edited by selecting
Graphics, Edit, Guidance Text .
Both of these options will call up the guidance text reader although it cannot be edited when opened from the view
menu. This reader/editor is a basic windows rich text editor, with support for fonts, sizing, alignment, and other
basic features.
