Bandwidth Values
Large values like bandwidths may be entered as a number followed by the letter k, m
or g. These act as shorthand for 3, 6 and 9 zeros respectively. For example, the
following are alternate ways of entering the same value:
1000000000
1000000k
1000M
1G
13.3.3
Allocation Lists
Where a value contains a list of numbers, for example a group of VLANs or priority
values, these may be entered as individual values separated by commas, as a range
(two values separated by a dash), or a combination of the two. The following
example shows equivalent entries:
1-4
1,2,3,4
1,2-4
1-2,3-4
An existing value may be adjusted by entering a new value prefixed by a plus or
minus character, for example:

IP and MAC Addresses
Network addresses should be entered in the conventional way: IP address as four
decimal numbers separated by full-stops; MAC addresses as 6 hexadecimal
numbers (with upper- or lower-case letters) separated by either colons or full-stops.
