Switches 1 to 5 are used to configure the default setting for the WAN/Network port.
These are intended primarily for use in conjunction with the Zero-Touch
Configuration system (see below), where communication over the WAN port must
operate immediately from cold-start. Since this is unlikely to be applicable to most
NetTESTER applications, it is recommended that all switches be left in their default
positions. Default settings are indicated in bold type in the tables that follow.
2.3.1 Switch 1: WAN Interface
The WAN mode switch selects between the two physical interfaces for the WAN
port.

2.3.2 Switch 2: Auto Negotiation
When a copper WAN interface is selected, either Auto-Negotiation or fixed
configuration may be chosen.

2.3.3 Switches 3 and 4: Speed
Two bit-switches are used to select the speed of the WAN port. When auto
negotiation is enabled, these switches control the options that are advertised. In
fixed mode, they select the actual interface speed.

Note: When the SFP interface is selected, valid speed options are likely to be
restricted by to the type of module fitted.
2.3.4 Switch 5: Duplex
When a copper WAN interface is selected, this switch controls the duplex mode of
the port. When auto negotiation is enabled this sets the advertised options, whilst in
fixed mode, it controls the duplex mode directly.
