METRODATA NetTESTER FAMILY USER MANUAL
76-02-107 Rev.A
Page 32 of 133
Reference should be made to the EDD family user manual [1] for more guidance on
using the advanced mode. It is recommended that the mode is accessed in order to
make simple changes to default settings that are not accessible from the normal
tester user interface. Once this is done, settings should be saved and the unit
returned to the normal tester user interface.
Care should be taken when using advanced mode functions. The tester user
interface is designed to work with the hidden EDD functions in their default settings.
Changing any of them runs the risk of altering the meaning or context of items on the
tester user interface without this being necessarily clear.
Suggested advanced-mode changes that might be made are:
•
Enabling the multi-level login system (see APPENDIX D);
•
Changing TWAMP global settings (port and/or timestamp format) (see section
•
Switching to S-Tag mode, for applications that require service VLAN tagging
(refer to the EDD Family User Manual [1] for a full discussion of tagging
modes);
•
Changing the allowed management access methods (Telnet, SSH, HTTP),
and/or file transfer methods (enabling/disabling TFTP or switching to server
mode, SFTP).
Note
: There are a small number of EDD functions that are not available on the
NetTESTER, even in advanced mode. See APPENDIX E for details.
