Menu items are selected using single key-stokes. In TTY mode, the key for an item
is indicated as a capital letter within its description. If no capital letter is shown, then
the leftmost numeric digit should be used. In the other terminal modes, the key is
indicated by both highlighting and capitalising. Note that highlighting may be done by
font or colour alteration, depending on the client software.
The action performed when an item is selected depends on the type of item.
