Once complete, the unit will continue to run the old software into it is restarted. This
can be done immediately or deferred to a more convenient time if desired.
The system retains a backup copy of the software throughout the reprogramming
process. If the process is interrupted (for example by a power failure), then the
version of software that was being replaced will be reinstated. If there is any doubt
about the success of the upgrade, the software version number (displayed on the
terminal at start-up, and available on the system and software upgrade menus)
should be checked.
Note
: The boot upgrade process does not have the same failsafe protection as the
regular upgrade. For this reason, it should not be used except under direct
instruction from technical support, and it is critical that power to the unit is no
interrupted during the programming process.
