24. Crane operation
24-4-2 Extension and retraction of boom sections 4, 5 and 6
(T217321-032-0E)
Perform operations with boom sections 2 and 3 fully extended.
Extend: Push the lever forward while pressing the boom sections 4, 5 and 6 extension/retraction button.
Stop: Return the lever to the neutral position.
Retract: Pull the lever back while pressing the boom sections 4, 5 and 6 extension/retraction button.
(1) Extending the boom sections 4, 5 and 6
1) Confirm that the main and auxiliary hooks are lowered sufficiently below the boom.
2) Fully extend boom sections 2 and 3.
3) Tilt the boom extension/retraction lever in the direction of extending the boom while pressing the boom sections 4,
5 and 6 extension/retraction button.
NOTE
For shock reduction at the time of stopping, operate the boom at a slow extension speed after the boom is
extended to about 26.5m.
(2) Retracting boom sections 4, 5 and 6

Confirm that the main and auxiliary hooks is not lowered more than necessary below the boom.
2) Tilt the boom extension/retraction lever in the direction of retracting the boom while pressing the boom sections 4,
5 and 6 extension/retraction button.
3) To retract boom sections 2 and 3 as well, confirm that boom sections 4, 5 and 6 are fully retracted, briefly move
the boom extension/retraction lever back to the neutral position and take your hand off from the boom sections 4,
5 and 6 extension/retraction button before retracting the boom sections 2 and 3.
NOTE
For shock reduction at the time of switching, operate the boom at a slow retraction speed after the boom is
retracted to about 18.0m.
