Before you board the crane, check that there is nobody nearby.
・
When you are about to start the engine, sound the horn to warn
people nearby.
(6)
Before you start the engine, check that all the levers, pedals and
switches are in their neutral or OFF positions.
19-2-2 Precautions when setting outriggers
(T218351-035-0E)
(1) Outrigger reaction forces
Never operate the crane on soft ground. The ground must be
reinforced appropriately for supporting the crane
(
such as by
using steel plates to increase the supportable load).
In order to properly reinforce the ground to ensure the crane can
be operated safely, it is necessary to determine how much force
the ground can support. In other words, it requires calculating
the outrigger reaction force.
(2) Selection of outrigger supporting positions
If the outriggers are set on an inclined ground, the capability of the crane can be lowered beyond the expectation.
Therefore, operating the crane without considering this concern can lead to the machine falling down or the boom
being broken even if the rated lifting capacity is not exceeded.
1)
Even looking firm, grounds such as listed below cannot bear
the machine load if the soil under the ground surface is weak.
Always perform the selection of the ground while considering
the bearing capacity of the soil. If it is uncertain, use steel
plates having a sufficient area and strength under the
outrigger floats.
