13. SCR system
・
Only use the DEF in accordance with ISO 22241-1. Do not use any DEF other than the brand
specified.
・
Do not dilute the DEF or add any additives. Doing so could not only result in worse gas
emissions, but also could cause the machine to fail.
・
Clean the area around the cap of the DEF tank, DEF filler port, the DEF storage container, and
the filling device and be careful to prevent any dust or other matter from entering the tank.
Contamination could cause blockage in the DEF pump, flow lines, or dosing module, which
could result in malfunction or failure.
・
Vaporized ammonia might leak out when the cap is removed from the DEF tank. Vaporized
ammonia has an intense odor and especially irritates the skin, mucous membrane, and eyes.
Therefore, fill the tank with the DEF in a well-ventilated location.
・
Once the DEF has been removed from the DEF tank, its purity cannot be guaranteed. Do not
pour it back into the DEF tank.
・
If any DEF splashes onto the machinery, then wipe it up immediately. If left unremoved, the
urea components could crystallize, making it difficult to remove.
・
If the cap is difficult to tighten due to crystallized urea around the filler port of the DEF tank,
remove it with a cloth or other means, rather than forcing the cap closed.
・
Be careful not to get the DEF on the skin, in the eyes, or on clothing. If that occurs,
immediately rinse the area with water. If it contacts the eyes, immediately rinse the eyes with
clean water for at least 15 minutes and then consult a medical doctor.
・
If the DEF is accidentally ingested, immediately rinse the mouth with water and drink large
amounts of water. If uncomfortable doing so, have the case diagnosed by a medical doctor.
・
Dispose of the DEF in accordance with local laws and regulations.
