4.2  Manual Head Drive Assembly

Replacement

1. Using lithium grease, lightly grease the head screw assembly threads.

2. Attach the head drive assembly to the frame crossbar by inserting two hair 

pins through the anchor points.

3. Position the end of the head drive assembly in the yokes on the head 

section. Insert a pin through the yokes and through holes in the end of the 
head drive assembly. Secure with one rue ring cotter (see figure 4-8 on 
page 4-10).

4. Insert the head drive hand crank assembly through the slot on the foot 

panel and attach to the head drive assembly with the bolt and nut (see 
figure 4-10 on page 4-12).

5. Perform an operational check of the hilow, head, and knee functions. See 

“Function Checks—Manual Drive Model” on page 2-5.
