5.4.2 Setting Up for Transmitted Light Darkfield Microscopy Using the KÖHLER Method
Prerequisite
ü The microscope is operational.
ü The height stop of the condenser carrrier is adjusted [

ü The height stop of the focusing drive is adjusted. [

ü A suitable condenser for transmitted light darkfield microscopy is installed [

ü The illumination is adjusted for transmitted light brightfield microscopy [

Procedure 1. Set the modulator disk to position D (or DF =
darkfield).
2. Turn the knurled knob for vertical adjustment
of the condenser to the upper stop.
3. Swivel the objective with the highest possible
aperture into position on the nosepiece.
4. Place the sample on the stage.
5. Focus the sample.
