When rinsing, the rinse actuator must be energized. The rinse actuator can be found under the top cover

at the top of pipette being rinsed. The functioning can be checked, go to

Service - Manual settings - Rinse

actuator

ON/OFF.

3. Rinse nozzle:

Must engage with the bottom of the pipette. See

Rinse nozzle alignment

4. Piercing pin in the rinse nozzle:

It must be straight. The piercing pin is to pierce the bottom meniscus when a filled pipette is at the rinse

position.

5. Flow from the rinse nozzle

The nozzle or tubing may be blocked.

▪ Check with

Prime Disinfectant

if sufficient disinfectant flows through the system.

15.1.3 - Rinse and Saline pump failure

Rinse pump:

1. Liquid flows back into the rinse bottle or cubitainer.

▪ Replace the rinse pump tube.

2. At the start of the rinse sequence the first pipette is not washed.

Saline pump:

1. Liquid flowing back to the saline bottle or cubitainer.

▪ Replace the saline pump tube.

2. Needle is not washed sufficiently.

The wider bore tube is for the rinse pump.

The narrower bore tube is for the saline pump.
